Konnections
Kennedy-Kenrick Catholic uniquely stands above other schools, not just for academics and activities, but also because of a special program that exclusively calls Kennedy-Kenrick Catholic its home. This exceptional program is Konnections. For the past sixteen years, KKCHS has been proud to call this program its own.
Konnections gives students the opportunity to discuss their faith and important issues affecting the lives of teens in a relaxing and fun atmosphere. It also happens to be run by two of the sweetest sisters you will ever meet, Sister Natalie and Sister Elizabeth. In Konnections, students watch and discuss movies and TV shows that concern current events in the lives of teens. There also happens to be some candy in it as well!
Konnections has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. It is a place in which students can leave behind the troubles of their day, at least for one period, relax, and enjoy the company of their friends, while learning along the way. One of the great things about Konnections is that it is not exclusive. Everyone is invited and encouraged to participate, and most do. There are no cliques, everyone is welcome. All problems and trivial disputes are left at the door when students enter the room beside the cafeteria.
Konnections is great for its atmosphere, but it is much more than that. Students are given the opportunity to discuss their faith and any problem that is facing them. They can do this on their cycle day, but Sisters Natalie and Elizabeth are there for the students at all times. No appointment is ever needed and no one is ever turned away, as is shown by the masses of students who crowd in daily.
The students of Kennedy-Kenrick Catholic are very blessed to be given such a program. Whether watching an episode of 7th Heaven, a blockbuster such as Good Will Hunting, lying on a cushion curled under a blanket, or sitting on a beanbag chair, every student who participates enjoys the Konnections Program. No other school even comes close to creating what Sister Natalie and Elizabeth have. There is an unexplained magic that exists in the Konnections room. This magic has affected the lives of thousands of students over the years, and will continue to affect the lives of thousands more to come.
